May Quarterly 2016 with Helene Knott

Helene Knott

Morning Trunk Show, 10 AM-Noon (Open to All)

Meet renowned fabric artist Helene Knott. Garment sewers and quilters alike will enjoy her talk on The Art and Craft of Quilting. This program focuses on the quilting – both hand and machine – that is the final stage of a quilt. Proper tools, materials and design resources are covered in a digital presentation followed by a trunk show.

Buffet Lunch & “Improvisational Mandalas” Workshop, Noon-4 PM

HK sample1We will explore how to design and stitch Mandalas. Designing Mandalas is a meditative process. These exquisite motifs are spectacular on their own or used in garments, handbags, table runners, or any quilt.

Free-form Mandalas make a wonderful meditative project whether you are making them into simple pot holders and mug-rugs or applying them to quilted garments and larger quilts. In this class you will learn how to draft your own unique Mandala design. For those who aren’t sure they can tackle designing their own Mandala, there will be several pattern sprinted on Transfer-eze™ that you can choose from.
